Frequently Asked Questions
How should we dress for our session?
Neutral tones photograph beautifully with my style, but if you have something special in mind, I’d love to see it — expressing who you are is always encouraged! Once your booking is confirmed, I’ll send you a detailed What to Wear Guide to help you choose.
I also offer pieces from my client closet, which you can browse anytime on my website or Instagram highlights. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you’d like to use something for your session.
When is the best time for maternity photos?
This is so personal!
Everyone experiences pregnancy so differently. If you are high risk I suggest early as possible. Even if it is 20 weeks. (Mine was born at 25 weeks).
If you are travelling along well 30-34 weeks would be ideal. This is the time you generally have a bump but not too uncomfortable or puffy from fluid.
If you are wanting pregnancy announcements then around the end 10-15 weeks would be ideal.
When to book a newborn session?
The best time for newborn photos is usually when your little one is between 1–3 weeks old. At this age, babies are often sleepier and more settled, which makes it easier to capture those dreamy, curled-up poses. Of course, I also love to include some awake moments too — those little stretches, big eyes, and tiny expressions are so special. Having a mix of both sleeping and awake images really helps tell the full story of your baby in those early days.
What do we do during a session?
You don’t need to look at the camera the whole time — my sessions are about connection, not perfection. With little ones, we simply go with the flow. We might wander, explore, or stop to notice little things along the way. Whether your kids are shy, cuddly, or running wild, those moments often make the most meaningful photos.
